Asus denies delaying the Transformer’s Prime release date
Recently there have been rumors, more or less official, that Asus has encountered some issues with its Transformer Prime model, which may be bad enough to cause a delay of the launch date from this year to the next one. So far it looks like this presumed delay was the cause of a Wi Fi adapter not working to the imposed standards, which might have meant the Transformer Prime was going to be delayed. Thankfully, Asus stood up and addressed the rumors and also marked them as unfounded, so we should still expect this tablet in shops before the end of the year.
Asus released an official statement saying that as things are going right now they should still be shipping the Transformer Prime in the 12-19 week, which puts it on schedule for the Christmas shopping spree. On the other hand, the Asus official statement seems to contradict some of the retailers out there. Amazon and Futureshop.ca have mysteriously canceled all the preorders for the new tablet due to a lack of availability but we hope that with the recent announcement they will be reinstated.
If you are wondering what all the fuss is about, you should know that the Asus Transformer Prime is going to be the first consumer device to come with the new NVIDIA Tegra 3 platform. To put it in plain terms, the Transformer Prime is going to be the first model from the new generation of tablets, which promise to more than double the performance of the existing devices. Hopefully, this new processor will find its way in some smartphone devices in the near future, as I am sure most of you are already thinking about what the Samsung Galaxy S3 would look like. You can find more about the specs of this tablet in our Asus Transformer Prime article.
Personally I hope that Asus manages to ship its tablet this week because the demand for this type of high tech gadgets is on the rise and this will only mean two things for us users, better performance at a lower price.
